Geez louise, realised today its not much longer til christmas. Trying to get my christmas image done so I can get stuff ordered and on the way. It was going to be a surprise but then I realised I needed to submit it to DA to get some of the things I want. Soooo WIP.

It's still fairly warm out, usually above freezing but it gets dark at around 4:30 so I havn't really been hitting the trails, just on weekends. I stick to the neighbourhood during the week which is ok, there is a few short side trails around the houses and when it gets dark I follow the street lights home. I live on the mountain side and the street winds along an edge that overlooks the city. It's pretty watching the sun dim away and all the lights come on. You see scatterings of life way up on the opposing mountains and wonder who's up there.

This weekend though I had this hankering to follow the trails to this certain spot. It's not a particularly pretty area, it was before the fires, but now its been taken over by scorched trunks and dirt bikers that leave far too much trash even out in the wilderness. Still, there is this field, and in the middle of this field is this tree. This big curved dead tree perched on these pink stones completely black on one side and untouched on the other. It's an hour from where I live but I really want to see it this weekend. You can rest your feet on the stones and sit on the curve of the trunk and look out over the lake and the city for miles. The city still echoes out of the valley, but it smells clean and you get alot of birds going around. There is something particularly alive about this dead tree. I love it. I love seeing it and sitting on it and just thinking and watching life go by. Despite the sound of life far below and the litter left from four wheelers, its still a quiet spot. I'd take a picture of it but I fear its not as impressive in a photo, it's a dead tree in the middle of a field, and you can't display the stirring of feeling you get when you see it in life.

Its pretty cool though.

was a good halloween weekend. Started a new painting.


Genou. After neglecting my kalacar for so long I've really gotten in a groove for some updated profiles of them. I like this layout much more then the Trev one.

Just in time for the deadline (as usual)
I had some trouble with this card as we agreed on doing busts only plus the fact that her character is supposed to be drawn anthropomorphic (at least I thought so...) Anyway those are NOT my strongest sides, but hey let's splash some sparkly watercolours one it and they make everything look pretty no? (jk really)



Anyway, in the end I am relatively pleased with the outcome. Thing bothering me most is probably that she doesn't look very Darkan (her species). And I think I overdid the white 'glow' in the hair ontop, but I'm going to fix that. Hope you like it anyway Kuraime!

EDIT: If you're reading this, our maintenance is OVER! The problem was not found on our equipment, which means we'll have to work with our ISP to fix this small problem -- which also means another maintenance window in the future -- but at least we have eliminated our side.

Hi everyone, sorry for the late notice but I'm going to have to do some testing on 1 of our 4 internet circuits TONIGHT; Friday night or Saturday morning depending on which time zone you're in.

Most of us shouldn't notice any impact, though there may be some slowness or lag when I switch traffic on to our other ISP circuits and then another hit when I stop the tests. If a page won't load or times out, try hitting refresh 1 or 2 times and it should load then. If it doesn't work at all... trust me, I'll be typing really really really fast to try to undo whatever I just did. Hopefully you'll have some Halloween candy (if you're in the USA and celebrate that kind of thing) nearby to take away the bitterness of a small site outage. :(

Here's the handy-dandy Website That I Always Use to get a feel for when the maintenance will start in your area. Our site traffic historically dips on Friday afternoons until Saturday morning which is why we tend to pick this time for maintenance work.
